While the current spat continues to rage over whether Australian film director George Miller will receive the 40% production tax offset for his $200 million film Justice League Mortal, a relatively unknown player in the Australian film industry has embarked on his own ambitious plans to lead the Australian film industry out of its present quagmire.

About Studio Australia 2015

The first step towards building a national motion picture studio system in Australia.

Studio Australia is the foundation steering committee privately established to lead Australian screen professionals towards the formation of a united national studio system in Australia by 2015.

Studio Australia is a public-private partnership venture, whose chief aim is to lobby the Australian Federal Government for the re-allocation of public film funding resources towards the establishment of the Studio Australia Film Investment Fund (SAFIF) in partnership with the private sector.

The fund will be set up and jointly chaired by members of the public and private sector who will be required to raise up to $US500 million to acquire a 150-acre site in Australia and to oversee the building and construction of eight soundstages, production and animation facilities, and full orchestra scoring stages among its post-production buildings.

A full prospectus and initial public offering (IPO) will be issued to the Australian public and investment community.
